Statement of Authenticity
This jewelry is handcrafted in Qosqo (Cuzco), the ancient capital of the Inkas, and its villages in the Peruvian Andes. The creativity of the Quechua speaking Indigenous peoples of the Andes is expressed in the diversity of their crafts: colorful ceramics and intricate metal design often inspired by the cultures of their ancestors.
Families handpaint each clay bead and twirl metal wires with dexterity and speed. Each intricate pattern is repeated many times with accurate consistency, but new designs are forever created... A Chullo is a cap which has side panels covering the ears. These items were handwoven by local Indigenous artisans who participate and benefit from Yachay Wasi projects. They are made of Alpaca wool and feature original and unique designs.
