YACHAY
WASI
SECOND STAGE:
During the rainy season in January 2010, the second stage of the Campaign was implemented, under the leadership of Yachay Wasi.
6,350 native trees were planted around the lake of Acopia and the villages of Acopia and Santo Domingo by the Indigenous communities of Acopia and Santo Domingo.
Lake Acopia is part of the Circuit of Four Lakes in the province of Acomayo, Department of Cusco, Peru. Altitude is 3,600 meters.
This time, only a small amount of contributions of $1.00 per tree was received from the public. The saplings were partially bought on credit by Yachay Wasi.
